I have just bought a car I always wanted since I was a Junior in High School.
A 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. This was in New York, but built here in Cincinnati (Norwood). Solar Gold and Camel Cloth (Hounds tooth) interior. The car has Fisher T Tops and they are tinted with black Trim.
Front and Rear Speakers along with an Equalizer were installed in 1980 (documentation provided) to the original AM/FM 8 track player. Yes, the 8 track still works. The engine is the original Oldsmobile 403 V8.
The trunk still contains its original items. The T Top bags and the compact spare (Complete with tire inflation bottle)
Last and certainly not least is the decal. Here it is in all its 1979 glory.
Since I have acquired it, I have sunk a couple thousand dollars into it making it road worthy. The weatherstripping and headliner are projects I plan to work on next year. I am going to be attending the 30th Trans Am Nationals in Fairborn, Ohio this year. I can’t wait. For now it is driven on an occasional nice day. I have driven it to the flea market to get some 8 tracks. Two different people have expressed interest in buying it, but I won’t entertain any for several years. It took too long to get this and I am not giving it up anytime soon.
